Meanings of names?

What is the meaning of the names Adam and Krista?

Meanings of names?
ADAM

Usage: English, French, German, Polish, Russian, Ukrainian, Romanian, Jewish, Biblical

Meaning: This is the Hebrew word for "man". It could be ultimately derived from Hebrew 讗讚诐 ('adam) meaning "to be red", referring to the ruddy color of human skin, or from Assyrian adamu meaning "to make". According to Genesis in the Old Testament Adam was created from the earth by God (there is a word play on Hebrew 讗植讚指诪指讛 ('adamah) "earth"). He and Eve were supposedly the first humans, living happily in the Garden of Eden until Adam ate a forbidden fruit given to him by Eve.

KRISTA (which is the short for Kristina)

Usage: German, English

Meaning: Feminine form of Christian. This was the name of a Swedish queen of the 17th century who was interested in the arts and philosophy. She gave up her crown to become a Roman Catholic.

I hope this helps. Good luck!!
Reply:adam means "of the earth" and krista sounds like it comes from the sam root as christ, anointed
