What are the meanings of the names in the epilogue?

harry potter book 7. the kids names especially ron and hermione`s.

What are the meanings of the names in the epilogue?
Hi!

Well... I saw it like this.

The girl's name, ROSE, starts with an R, like RON.

The boy's name, HUGO, starts with an H, like Hermione.

It's not much, but it's what I figured as soon as I read it.

HUGO means "bright in mind and spirit"...

ROSE is a name after the flower...

In significance, they do not relate to RON's or HERMIONE's names.

What I can tell you is that we don't know Hermione's parents names from the books. And, after given a thorough check to the Weasley family tree, they do not appear either...

So, for me, it's the first letter thing: R%26amp;H give birth to H%26amp;R.

As for the rest of the kids:

- TEDDY LUPIN, named after TONK's father.

- JAMES POTTER, named after HARRY's dad.

- ALBUS SEVERUS POTTER, named after ALBUS DUMBLEDORE and SEVERUS SNAPE (which is cute, because he's supposed to be the only one of Harry's children that looks like him and has his eyes... And we all know that Severus loved Lily Evans and her eyes. So cute)

- LILY POTTER, named after HARRY's mom (who was also redheaded)

- VICTOIRE WEASLEY. French name, obviously because of her mom (FLEUR). Victoire means "victory" in French. She was born, after the Dark Lord was defeated, so I'm guessing it could be related. (The good ones had a huge VICTORY)

- SCORPIOUS MALFOY. Well... this family likes the dangerous animals relations. DRACO as in "dragon" and SCORPIOUS as in "scorpion"

Goodluck!
Reply:HArrys' Ginnny

Lilly and james- harrys parents

albus severus- 2 kinda sorta role modles

Hermiones- theres not much of a mean i dont think
Reply:Well, I think Hermione and Ron picked Rose to kind of go with Harry and Ginny's daughter Lily since they are both types of flowers.

As for Hugo, I kind of though that since both Rose and Ron start with 'R', maybe they wanted an 'H' name to go with Hermione. Also, Hugo means heart, mind, or spirit so that kind of represents Hermione since she has got a lot of heart, is smart and has a good spirit.

Obviously, Harry and Ginny's kids were named after Harry's parents, Lily and James and the second son, Albus Severus, was named after Dumbldore and Snape; one, Harry's hero per say, and the other (Snape) Harry's unknown savior.

Victoire Weasly is thought to be Bill's and Fleur's daughter since her name is French and it is said she is both the Potters' and the Weaslys' cousin which makes her the daughter of one of the Weaslys'. Her name means victory in French and was born after Voldemort's final defeat and the good side's victory.

Teddy Lupin, whom Victoire is seen kissing at King's Cross Station, is the son of Lupin and Tonks. He is names after Tonks' father, Ted. He is Harry's godson.

Also at the station, you see Draco Malfoy's son, Scorpius, and Draco's wife, an unnamed woman. Scorpius means scorpion and since Draco means dragon, this may mean that the Mafoy's like names of dangerous animals as the names of their children.

Hope this helps and feel free to email me with any question you have or if you need something cleared up.
Reply:Hermione and ron's kids don't have any meaning. I think that JK just liked those names for some reason.
Reply:I didn't observe any real meaning behind them. I do know that they were a little odd to me though. I for one was a little disappointed with the epilogue I just found it weird.
