Meanings of names?

I've been wondering the meaning behind my name, and the meaning of some of my close friends. If you know please help me figure out the meanings of the names.. Sandra, Cara, Tanya, Seana, Charise

Thanks so much! =)

Meanings of names?
No problem. I spent my time looking up the names in this book from my public library. The names you requested mean the following:

Sandra: Defender of mankind

Cara: Beloved, friend, face

Tanya: Russian Saint

Seana: God is gracious

Charise: Charming
Reply:Sandra is short for Alexandra, the female form of Alexander, Greek for "helper of man"

Cara comes from latin for dear; roots of words like "cherished", "cherub", "care" in English and "cher/chere" in French

I'm not sure about the rest but I'll guess

Seana is probably the female version of Sean, which is Irish/Celtic, but I don't know it's exact meaning

I'm guessing Charise is a modern version of a name with the same origin as Cara

Tanya I have no idea, but it might be a variation or shortened version of something else
